Dr. Wilder launched Orpheus Media Research, LLC (OMR) in early 2007, leaving behind a successful career as composer/pianist and university professor to pursue the commercial application of his research in autonomous music analysis. In addition to leading the design and development of OMR's core technologies, Greg is responsible for the technology-related publishing, presentation, and research community development. Since earning his doctorate from the Eastman School of Music in 2002 (Major: Composition and Piano, Minor: Music History, Emphasis: Computer Music), Greg has accumulated numerous broadcast, commercial, and stage credits working around the world as pianist, composer, producer, and sound designer, and has held teaching posts at Dickinson College and West Chester University. Greg's musical awards include those from the American Composer's Forum, the William Penn Foundation, the Angel Orensanz Foundation, the Society of Composers International, and ASCAP.
Gary DeSorbo is a composer and computer consultant living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Gary has an extensive background in architecture, construction and implementation of custom designed, enterprise-level applications and is a seasoned expert in all phases of software development. Having worn several hats in roles from developer to manager, Gary has logged over thirteen years in the software development industry and non-profit organizations, and is currently finishing his Ph.D. in Music Composition at the University of Chicago. His musical pursuits bring together the creative components he enjoys by integrating the structural relationships between music composition and software design.
As an active composer and arranger, Jon Manness brings invaluable industry experience to OMR's business development efforts. In addition to driving OMR's content partner relationships and providing critical domain-specific guidance to Myna's ongoing UI and feature set development, Jon is musically involved with a diverse array of film and multimedia projects. Recent work includes scoring original music for the Avatar ultimate edition DVD (expected release in Nov. 2010), arranging for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (Hersheypark), and serving as producer and composer of Who Speaks for Wolf, a modern dance project based on a Native American Learning Story by Paula Underwood. Jon earned a Master of Music degree from New York University (2009), Bachelor of Music from West Chester University (2007), and currently lives in Los Angeles.
